Why Purple Mainspring?
Purple is the Lupus awareness color. The mainspring is the coiled spring at the heart of a mechanical watch, held under constant tension to power everything else. We build the same way.
Our founder's partner has Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE).
A chronic autoimmune condition affecting over 1.5 million Americans. Across all autoimmune diseases that number is closer to 450 million globally; roughly 80% of them are women. That experience is why we care so deeply about health, the science behind it, and why our earliest work centers on people managing autoimmune conditions.
It's also why we wrote it into our charter: Purple Mainspring commits 5% of annual net profits to the Lupus Research Alliance.

5% of Purple Mainspring's annual net profits is donated to the Lupus Research Alliance. This commitment is permanent and public.
AI Accountability
AI will always recommend and will never restrict your options or obscure alternatives. AI-generated content is labeled as such. Human expert contributions are too.
